Asotin County Fire District 1 proudly serves a population of 15,000 across 120 square miles, providing fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), and river rescue operations. Each year, we respond to approximately 2,600 calls, with EMS incidents accounting for nearly 90% of our responses.
We are the only fire district in the county that ensures both fire and EMS coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our dedicated team includes 32 volunteer firefighters, 28 emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and 35 paramedics.
Asotin County Fire District 1 maintains the lowest levy rate for fire protection and EMS services in the county. We operate on a balanced budget and have consistently passed all state financial and accountability audits. Thanks to the commitment of our volunteer firefighters and EMTs, who generously donate their time, we help save local taxpayers an estimated $1 million every year.
